1961 Born in Sendikoro village where he grew up in alrge family and worked as a peasnat farmer. He was also a house builder, shepherd and livestock trader
1969 - 1975 Farmer
1976 - 1985 House builder
1986 - 2004 Agricultural trader
1998 Met his wife and had two sons
2003 Sharif was captured and taken to jail in Khartoum
2003 Sharif's uncle found a sumuggler to fly him out . he arrived at Heathrow Airport. His asylum application failed. He was detained at Rugby prison for 9 months
2005 He was released and granted asylum. He moved to Tottenham in London. His wife and two sons were murdered in th egenocide in Darfur.
2005 He featured in the film Darfur House where he and three others built a traditional Darfuri house at the Museum of Childhood.
2013 Sharif became a British citizen
2015 Changed his name to Majed Hassan so he could viist Sudan again
2016 He returned to Sudan and remarried before returning to the UK. His wife had o remain in Darfur,. He visited her every year.
2019 He joined the delegation of Haringey Welcome to present a petition to the European Parliament calling for UK migrant and refugees rights to be considered in the Brexit deal
2020 Sharif's wife dies in childbirth in Darfur.
2021 Sharif returned to DArfur to bring his baby daughter to the UK. He was killed during an armed attack on a camp for displaced persons in El Geneina, the regional capital of West Darfur. He was helping civiliam women and children escape to safety as the camp came under siege. When he was injured, SHarif was taken to a Friend's home. However, he wa sfollowed by members of the militia and brutally beaten and shot dead alongside his friends
