Erich Rendel

Erich was my father's eldest brother and the only member of the immediate family to be captured by the Nazis. His parents and siblings (including my father) were all hidden during the Shoah in the South of France. Erich was deported to Auschwitz in 1943 and died in Gross Rosen 24 hours before the camp was liberated by the Russians.
